Galaxy Quest: The DVD

By Sherril Steele-Carlin

A hilarious spoof of science-fiction television and films.

Sci-fi fans will either love or hate this rollicking spoof of TV sci-fi shows of the past. Galaxy Quest pokes fun at actors, special effects, and aliens alike, nothing is sacred in this winning script. The captain of the ship, has-been sci-fi actor Jason Nesmith is played by funny-man Tim Allen, and the entire show is an array of quick gags and action. His intrepid crew is played by Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, and Tony Shalhoub, and they all shine as quirky, yet fully believable Hollywood types. The scene with the "chompy-crushy" things is not to be missed.
