The Terminator: The Machines Are Out To Get Us
By Sherril Steele-Carlin
The Terminator stands out as a landmark film in special effects, and set the stage for just about every action film that followed this epic film. It also created the "Terminator" persona of Arnold Schwarzenegger, a persona it has been difficult for him to shake off, even during his current political career.
The director of this film, James Cameron, went on to direct epics like Titanic, and Schwarzenegger sent his action film career into high gear with this film. In a re-release, the film has been remastered from a hi-definition transfer in 16:8 aspect ratio widescreen, with a Dolby Digital 5.1 sound remix. The sound and detail in this new version is every bit as good as the film release that showed in theatres back in 1984. The soundtrack is available in Surround English, French, and Spanish, and mono English, too. Subtitles are available in English, French, and Spanish.
