Body Contouring and the PULL Technique
By Sherril Steele-Carlin
Today's hot fashions show more skin than ever! Bare midriffs, hip-hugger jeans, and skin tight tee's all add up to the need for a perfectly sculpted body if you want to be tops in fashion and style. Unfortunately, most people simply aren't perfectly sculpted. That's where plastic surgery comes in.
Enhance and Decrease
Many people have tummy tucks to eliminate sagging skin in the abdominal area. However, many people also find they have sagging skin in the pubic area, and a revolutionary new surgery has been developed to address just that problem. Pubic Undermining Lift and Liposuction, or PULL is a type of plastic surgery developed by a New York City plastic surgeon – Dr. Steve Fallek. The surgery takes off where tummy tucks leave off, eliminating the pubic bulge and saggy skin that tummy tucks simply don't address. The technique is relatively simple, but has been largely ignored up until recently.
Dr. Fallek developed the PULL technique because he saw a need for it. Patients were undergoing tummy tucks and other surgery to enhance their profiles and remove unwanted, sagging skin, but were left with bulges and skin in the pubic area. The surgery only takes about an hour or so, and usually the patients can return to normal activities the next day.
How Does it Work?
Actually, the surgery is a combination of skin tightening and liposuction. The technique removes skin and fat throughout the pubic area, and then utilizes liposuction in the lower pubic area. When it is complete, there is no more baggy, saggy skin in the area, and fat deposits have also been removed. The scar is hidden and bruising is minimal, according to Dr. Fallek. PULL can also be performed as an outpatient procedure.
Also Used After Weight Loss Surgery
The PULL Technique has also proved very effective to enhance the appearance after weight loss surgery. Many people who have lost large amounts of weight find their skin simply does not return to normal, and they must have surgery to remove the excess skin. The PULL Technique helps augment tummy tucks and other skin removal surgeries, and it can be performed at the same time as these other surgeries.
So, to look your very best and feel your very best, consider the PULL Technique for your body contouring surgery!
